DAY SEVEN - The Final Day
It's all non stop in LA. We got a call late last night at 11.30PM and have been conducting final fittings ever since.
The call last night was from P Diddy. We jumped out of the Chateau bungalow and drove up to his house in our Mercedes SLS to drop his ten suits off. Glad that we did as he wore a beautiful Spencer Hart tuxedo at the Oscars whilst he picked up his 'Best Documentary' for Undefeated. In fact, he even called us on his way to the Oscars to thank us and say how much he loved his suit.

It was a great evening for Spencer Hart with Adam Levine, Dylan Truss, P Diddy, Ioan Gruffud, JC Chasez and Benedict Cumberbatch all wearing Spencer Hart on the Oscars red carpet and the Vanity Fair and Elton John's party. In fact, Dylan Truss even got changed at our bungalow before he headed down the red carpet at the Kodak Theatre, accompanied by his date for the night, his mum.
After watching the Oscars from the comfort of our Hollywood base, complete with Billecart champagne and Carounn gin and tonics, we headed out to celebrate and enjoy the atmosphere at the party for The Artist, in the Chateau Marmont garden. What an amazing way to wrap up our trip to Hollywood by celebrating the Oscar success of Jean Dujardin and the makers of the Artist.
Very happy, but also a little sad to leave Hollywood, we headed back to the next day to LAX – heading to London to resume our work at the Savile Row and Brook Street stores. Until next time!
DAY SIX
Just because our time in Bungalow 2 is beginning to come to an end, it has not meant that it’s all beginning to slow down. Today, we fitted and completed fifteen looks! Only at the Oscars…
Following hot on Kate Bosworth’s heels, the actress Jena Malone visited us, as did CNN reporter Alina Cho, who both ordered made to measure suits.
Spencer Hart has always had a strong rapport with actors and musicians across the years such as Mickey Madden, but even their teams are getting involved in the action. We had a few managers come in earlier in the week. Today Darin Friedman and Todd Diener popped in for a sharp Spencer Hart suit each.

We also had some visits from those outside of the showbiz world. John Dempsey, the president of Estee Lauder came in for a fitting for a made to measure suit and Dilso De Almeida, restaurateur. Catherine Hayward Fashion Director of Esquire magazine and the editor of Jalouse magazine visited for a glass of Billecart champagne and to check out some of the accessories that we offer.
Today has certainly been a busy day but it’s been a busy week, we even did a last minute midnight dash to P Diddy's house to deliver his tux!
We’ve seen some great talent visit us in Bungalow 2, at the Chateau Marmont such as William Dafoe, Dylan Truss and Rufus Sewell, we wish everyone success at tonight’s Oscars! Until next time..
DAY FIVE
Owain Yeoman looked fantastic in a midnight blue Spencer Hart suit, which he will wear to the Vanity Fair party on Sunday.
Lots of news coming through of talent wearing Spencer Hart to the Oscars
ceremony. Brad Pitt's stylist let us know he will be wearing a
beautiful midnight blue shawl suit with a v neck from Spencer Hart.
Others include Adam Levine from Maroon 5, and actor Danny Houston as
well as presenter Thomas Hayo both to be wearing classic midnight blue
dinner suits. Musician Dylan Truss will also be wearing a beautiful
skinny peak on Sunday to the academy awards.

After a busy morning of actors coming through the bungalow to collect their suits, including Kate Bosworth who had a women's tailored suit made for her, we found out that the Spencer Hart twitter account, @SpencerHart, has hit 1800 followers.
Dressing Owain Yeoman. Lunch in the Chateau, which was a who's of Hollywood today, we had a fitting's for Andre Balazs and Owain Yeoman and we then prepared the bungalow for William Dafoe. William is a big fan of Spencer Hart and we will be making a couple of made to measure suits for him.
The coolest hotel proprietor in the world!
There was another big Oscars party at the Chateau tonight which we popped into. The event was surrounded by media and fans lined up outside the bungalows. Oscar fever has definitely set it in! More news tomorrow...
DAY FOUR
No time today for hangovers after the Spencer Hart party at The Standard's @Smoke&Mirrors.
Today in the bungalow we were visited by Jeanne Yang, who is a top Hollywood Stylist. She works with the likes of Tom Cruise, Christian Bale, Katie Holmes and countless others. She had a look at the new Palm Springs range and picked out a great pair of chinos and polo shirt for Brad Pitt, and took two suits over to Tom Cruises house.
The up and coming director, Rupert Sanders dropped in for a fitting, as did Ioan Gruffudd who left with a stunning black Marcela waistcoat.

We've had quite a few people dropping into the bungalow to pick up something new for the Vanity Fair party on Sunday. Hollywood producer Orian Williams popped in for a fitting in a beautiful midnight blue suit. I often advise clients to choose midnight blue, over black as it photographs much better. Black seems to suck out all the light.

We did indulge in a quick lunch out in the garden at the Chateau Marmont with Rufus Sewell and Taylor Hackford; the President of the Directors Guild of America. Not before we fitted him with a new suit for the Oscars ceremony though.
Legendary Hollywood director Taylor Hackford tells it as it isBusiness didn't stop after lunch and we had visits from two Hollywood superstar agents; Peter Hess and Jimmy Darmody. Both left very happy with their made to measure suits. Finally, we've just fitted Alex Greenwald, the lead singer for Phantom Planet with a suit and waistcoat. Off to dinner now and then a well deserved rest! Until tomorrow…
DAY THREE
Day three in LA and what a day!
We dressed many actors in the bungalow this morning in the lead up to Sunday’s Oscars. Anthony Mandeler, James Purfoy, Danny Houston, Matt Goldman all came in to get fitted, as well as Benedict Cumberbatch dropping by to see us again. We fitted James Purefoy with a black mohair shawl suit which he wore to the premiere of his new film, ‘John Carter’ in Hollywood tonight.

The lovely Kate Bosworth also came in, and we fitted her with fully bespoke jacket and waistcoat that she’ll be wearing during the Oscar week. It’s great seeing women wearing Spencer Hart. We recently finished a jacket for Robbie William’s wife Ayda, and Margot Stilly have also worn Spencer Hart in the past. The excitement at the Chateau continues to build. At lunch we spotted John Malkovich and Kelsey Grammer in the garden and this evening Vanity Fair threw a party next to the Bungalow.
The rest of the day we prepared for our own Spencer Hart party at The Standard’s @Smoke&Mirrors club on Sunset Blvd. It was a great event and the Spencer Hart team mingled with ‘film director and president of the Director Guild of America’ Taylor Hackford, Phantom Planet, Maroon 5, Josh Hartnett and many more. As guests sipped on Caorunn Gin & Tonics, they were also treated to music from very own Nick Hart as he DJ’d throughout the evening. His set included a number of mid century Jazz classics through to early soul and hip-hop. Watch this space for the Spencer Hart album!

DAY TWO
Day two at the Chateau and the Oscars buzz has certainly settled on Hollywood. There have been crowds outside the Chateau Marmont all day as the parties are starting and the A-listers continue to flock into town.
Last night Pharrell Williams moved into the Bungalow next door and dropped by this morning to invite us to a party in his bungalow. You don’t even need to leave the Chateau there is so much going on here!
Meanwhile the Spencer Hart bungalow has been a hive of activity, as friend of Spencer Hart, Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as Andre Balazs, visited us to be kitted out in new suits. Following GQ.com singling out Benedict as ‘most stylish’ at the Golden Globes in January, he will again be wearing Spencer Hart at the Oscars on Sunday.
As well as dressing actors, we’ve also been checking in with a few Hollywood agents so headed off to the Beverly Wiltshire hotel for a meeting. The Beverly Wiltshire Hotel is a bit of a Hollywood staple and is where Richard Gere’s character stayed in Pretty Woman.
We then went back to the Chateau garden to eat at the annual Charles Chaplin dinner, finishing off the night off with cocktails at Soho House, Los Angeles.

DAY ONEThe Oscars are on Sunday and Spencer Hart are back in Hollywood.
After a great trip in January for the Golden Globes, the Spencer Hart team has again set up in the legendary Chateau Marmont for a week of dressing the leading acting talent for the Oscars. For the Golden Globes, Spencer Hart fitted actors including; Orlando Bloom, Benedict Cumberbatch, Damien Lewis, Dominic West, Jack Huston and Stellan and Peter Skarsgard, making a great start to the Hollywood award season.

We checked into our Bungalow at the Chateau Marmont early this afternoon, and the hotel is already starting to fill up with Hollywood A Listers and their agents. After checking in, we headed down to the Sunset Strip in the Gull-wing for some steak and eggs at the iconic Mel's Drive-In, one of the first drive thru restaurants in Hollywood. After lunch, news from London…we were pleased to hear that Paul McCartney is wearing Spencer Hart on the cover of his new album ‘Kisses on the Bottom’.

It was then back to the Chateau for our first appointment with singer-songwriter John Legend, who we kitted out with five suits and a beautiful velvet jacket. Friends of Spencer Hart, the boys from Maroon 5, were next in to us the Bungalow. They loved wearing Spencer Hart to the Grammys so popped in to say hi, add to pick up a few new things for their wardrobe. We were also joined by Adam Siegel, Producer of the Oscar nominated film ‘Drive’. He had just been to the Writers Guild Awards at the Palladium in West Hollywood. He also was a brand ambassador for the evening sporting his Midnight Blue Dinner Suit.

We then headed up to the Hollywood Hills for a Mercedes photo shoot, what a great view! After a busy first day it was time to chill in the Chateau garden where we shared a few of their best cocktails with the lovely Dame Helen Mirren. Until tomorrow! In the meantime check us out on www@spencerhart.com
Accompanied by the tunes of Donald Byrd, Nick Hart cruises through Hollywood’s hills in a Mercedes Gullwing.
